Sheep scabies is one of the diseases with the greatest impact on Patagonian livestock production. Due to its prevalence in winter, we share some recommendations to identify and prevent it.
Before individual examinations, observe the livestock from the paddock or pen without interfering with their usual behavior.
This allows you to get a general view of the animals and easily recognize some of their clinical signs, such as kicking, biting, or scratching.
If you detect sheep with mange, contact SENASA to coordinate a visit with an official veterinarian, who must supervise the sanitary treatment.
